02Common questions

The sky doesn’t match where my phone is pointing

Phone compasses can be off near metal, magnets or other electronics. Move away from them, then slowly wave the phone in a figure 8 a few times.

Still a little off? In Settings, under Advanced settings, use Compass nudge to turn the sky until a bright star or planet lines up.

Why does Asemoon ask for my location?

The sky depends on where you are. Your location is used only on your phone and is never sent to us. You can also say no and pick a city. See the privacy policy.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The apps include the stars, planets and constellations. The web app saves them on your device on your first visit. Only satellite positions need a connection now and then.

How do I install it on my phone?

The App Store and Google Play versions are on their way. Until then, tap Open Asemoon on the home page and add it to your home screen. In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. In Chrome, open the menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

Is there a red night mode?

Yes. Turn on Red night mode in Settings. The whole app turns red, so your eyes stay used to the dark.

Is Asemoon free?

Yes. The sky, search, the info cards and pointing your phone at the sky are free and will stay free. A few extra layers have a PRO badge. They are free for everyone during the launch. Later they will be part of an optional Asemoon Pro, and everyone who joined during the launch gets extra time for free.
